Pixies Extend Doolittle tour!

Via Rolling Stone.The Pixies have announced that they will be extending their 2011 Doolittle tour into the fall with a series of dates in what they are calling the "lost cities." Though that sounds as though they will be performing in the likes of Machu Picchu, Pompeii, Babylon and Ys, this actually means that they will be hitting markets in the United States where they have not ever played a gig.

The tour, which will kick off on October 27th in Montclair, New Jersey will also include stops in Waterbury, CT, Portland, ME, Huntington, NY, Wilmington, DE, Knoxville, TN, Santa Fe, NM and Bakersfield, CA before wrapping up in Santa Cruz, CA on November 21st. All of the shows on this tour will follow the format of their Doolittle anniversary gigs, in which the group will perform the 1989 album in its entirety along with b-sides from the era before wrapping up with an encore or two featuring other hits from their catalog.
