Dan Auerbach is producing Lana Del Rey’s new album
Lana Del Rey has enlisted The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach to produce her new album, Ultraviolence.
According to No Country For New Nashville, Del Rey has been spotted working at Auberach’s Easy Eye Studio in Nashville. And now, Del Rey has shared a photo of her and Auerbach along with the caption, “Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence”.
Update: Revolt TV reports that “a rep for Interscope Records has exclusively confirmed” Auerbach as producer of Del Rey’s new album.
The news is somewhat surprising given what Auerbach said about Del Rey in 2012. ”On some level, we’ve seen that Lana Del Rey thing since we first started,” Auerbach said to MTV. ”All of a sudden this new band would be headlining festivals and we’re like, ‘Wait, how did they get that?’ We’ve been here for two, three, four, five years and we’re still working our way up. But then they’re gone. Just as quickly as they get up there, they disappear.”
Auerbach has previously helmed albums for Dr. John, Grace Potter, JEFF the Brotherhood, and Bombino. In 2013, he earned a Grammy for Producer of the Year.
