Video: Karen O and Ezra Koenig perform “The Moon Song” at 2014 Academy Awards

The 2014 Academy Awards take place in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Several of the artists nominated in the Best Song category performed during the ceremony, including Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O. She teamed with Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig to perform “The Moon Song”, her Oscar-nominated contribution to Spike Jonze’s film Her. Watch the replay below.

As Karen explained recently to Rolling Stone, “The Moon Song” was originally intended as a duet. “I was really excited at the prospect of getting to record it with a male vocalist. Ezra was super cool and open, he slipped into character like a champ and damn he’s got the goods.”

The gala also featured performances by U2 and Pharrell Williams.
