R.I.P. Tommy Ramone, drummer of The Ramones

The Ramones’ last surviving original member, Thomas Erdelyi, aka Tommy Ramone, has died, according to Variety. He was 62 years old.
Ramone served as the band’s drummer from 1974 to 1978, appearing on the band’s first four albums, 1976′s Ramones, 1977′s Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, and 1979′s It’s Alive. He also co-produced It’s Alive and 1984′s Too Tough to Die. For his efforts, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Ramones in 2002
Aside from The Ramones, Tommy produced The Replacements’ seminal albumTim and Redd Kross’ Neuortica.
Tommy was diagnosed with bile duct cancer and had been in hospice care prior to his death.
