Disney announces release dates for Star Wars Episode VIII and Episode IX
In a meeting with shareholders this week, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Star Wars Episode VIII will debut in 2017, two years after the J.J. Abrams produced Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters. The final film in the trilogy, Episode IX, will follow in 2019.
Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens will premier in theaters on December 18th, 2015. The first sequel, which will be directed by Gareth Edwards, is set to release the following year on December 16th, 2016. Catch the trailer below.
