Rapper Kyle Keeps it Real
“I’m over rappers who smoke weed with white girls and get Emma Stoned.”
Although his sound has been compared to Drake’s, up-and-coming rapper Kyle, also known as Super Duper Kyle, makes it quite clear in his lyrics that he is not about the normal rapper lifestyle.

At only 19, Kyle released his debut album, Beautiful Loser, in August of 2013, and the next year held nothing but great opportunities for this California-based rapper. You may have caught him opening for G-Eazy last winter or opening for Watsky’s American leg of the All You Can Do tour this past fall. But although Kyle and his hype man, Super Duper Brick, make an absolutely incredible opening act (they threw packages of fruit snacks at the audience during his Chicago performance at the Metro and concluded his set by boogie boarding on top of the crowd), 2015 could be the year that Kyle takes the world (or at least the country) by storm on his own. Pushing 70,000 Twitter followers and over 1 million Spotify plays of his song “Keep it Real” from Beautiful Loser, this self-proclaimed “video game dude” is well on his way to a takeover.
Even with his rise to fame, Kyle seems to have stayed true to himself. His lyrics insist that he doesn’t really drink or smoke weed like most rappers, making him an anomaly and excellent role model in the hip-hop community.

Kyle’s most recent release, “Just a Picture” with Kehlani, is a guaranteed cure for the winter blues with its funky beats and the positive vibes that Kyle’s music always brings. “Just a Picture” looks at what it’s like to fall in love in the digital era with clever lyrics like “I wanna dive into your heart, baby, not slide in your DM’s.”
There are no current signs of Kyle releasing a new album, but we can cross our fingers to hear more from this feel-good rapper this year.
