5 Coachella Artists You Should Be Listening To Right Now

1. Ryn Weaver

Weaver's single "OctaHate" got attention from other tough gals in the music industry like Hayley Williams of Paramore and Charlie XCX, and with good reason. Her sweet but husky voice makes her sound like the punk rock love child of Joni Mitchell and Florence Welch. Her edgy pop sound should make for a great show at Coachella, and we can only hope that she'll show up on stage with Cashmere Cat, who did a killer remix of "OctaHate."

2. Eagulls

This post-punk band from Leeds, England, released their self titled album in March of 2014 and support Franz Ferdinand on their UK tour. Their song "Nerve Endings" is sure to be an absolute blast live with its driving beat, guitar solos, and echoing vocals.

3. HAERTS

HAERTS has toured with Atlas Genius and St Lucia, but it's about time they got a stage of their own. Nini Fabi, the lead vocalist of HAERTS, has a pure, innocent sound that glides over their electro-pop tracks. A classic four-member band (three of the four being Berklee grads), HAERTS is easy, enjoyable listening.

4. Los Rakas

MTV described Los Rakas as 'Caribbean dancehall with ferocious, bilingual, emcee-devouring microphone skills,' and we couldn't put it better. This cousin duo delivers amazing experimental hip hop with reggae and dancehall inspiration. We have no doubt that these Oakland artists will know how to put on a great show.

5. PHOX

You probably know Phox's hit "Slow Motion," you just may not know that they're the ones who recorded it. They've opened for Blitzen Trapper as well as The Lumineers at iTunes Festival in London. A little bit folk, a little bit pop, their instrumentation is flawless, and it doesn't hurt that the lead singer looks like she walked out of a daydream.
