Pioneering disco/dance producer Giorgio Morroder has released the video for the lead single "Right Here Right Now" from his upcoming as-yet-untiltled album. Most famous for producing hits for Donna Summer, David Bowie, and Blondie in the late 70s/ early 80s, Moroder has reinvented himself as a DJ and recently appeared on Daft Punk's Random Access Memories.
"Right Here Right Now" is a funky disco dance track that is gaining critical praise. The single, which features silky vocals delivered from Australia's biggest export Kylie Minogue, first leaked on the internet on January 16th and was subsequently released on January 20th along with a teaser video uploaded to Moroder's Vevo account. This release follows last November's promo single "74 Is The New 24," a tongue-in-cheek reference to Moroder's age. Both tracks are taken from Moroder's upcoming album - his first solo effort in 30 years- that also features collaborations with Britney Spears, Foxes, Sia, and Charlie XCX.
The video, which features kaleidoscopic images of Minogue and Moroder is DJ mode, was directed by Daniel Börjesson and choreographed by Blake McGrath.
