Luke Winslow-King will be performing at The Hideout in Chicago, Il, in support of his new album, Everlasting Arms. This album follows his critically acclaimed album, The Coming Tide, released by Bloodshot Records. LWK has had many tours in the U.S and overseas and has performed with the likes of Jack White, Pokey Lafarge, Taj Mahal, Chris Thile, and Rebirth Brass Band. Everlasting Arms finds inspiration from his own life, written of Winslow-King's road to the current.
About Luke Winslow-King:
As a teen, LWK attended Interlochen Center of the Arts near his hometown, Cadillac, MI. He later studied music theory at New Orleans University, then studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. After his tour van was ransacked, he moved to New Orleans in 2001 and was schooled on the job from gigs on Royal Street, club performances at various spots along Frenchmen, and pick-up/recording sessions with local standouts including John Boutte, Roberto Luti, and "Washboard" Chaz Leary to name a few. In 2013, LWK was nominated as best male performer by Offbeat Magazine, alongside Dr. John and Boutte. He was also recently featured in Aquarium Drunkard, and had a new video premiered at Entertainment Weekly:
