February 22-28 is National Eating Disorders Awareness week. This year's theme, "I Had No Idea," focuses on the diversity and misconceptions about eating disorders. In honor of this week, here are a few of our favorite artists who have overcome their eating disorders and have shown us what it means to be a fighter. Make sure to check out the the National Eating Disorders Association website to learn more about awareness week and what you can do to help yourself and others struggling with eating disorders.

Kesha

In January of 2014, Kesha checked into a rehabilitation facility for eating disorder treatment. Upon her release in March, she ditched the dollar sign in her name and changed her Twitter handle from @keshasuxx to @kesharose, giving herself a fresh, positive start. Since checking out of rehab, Kesha joined the Summer talent show Rising Star, attended New York Fashion Week, and her newest album, according to her, is in the works. As her sweatshirt says, she truly is a survivor.

Lady Gaga

Gaga has admitted to struggling with bulimia and anorexia since she was 15, but despite being constantly under fire for her body (remember when everyone was claiming she was a man?) she continues to be an advocate for self-love and bravery. Also, her Instagram is an incredible inspiration for living a healthy lifestyle--she's always posting pictures of her doing yoga. And of course, she's always here to remind you that you're beautiful in your own way.

Demi Lovato

Demi received treatment for bulimia, restricted eating, and self-harm in 2010, but despite her amazing success since her release from rehab, the past few years have not been perfect for her in terms of self image. She admitted in December that she nearly was sent back to rehab in 2013, proving that recovery is a bumpy process. With the help of her boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, and the support of her Lovatics, Demi has stayed strong and served as an amazing role model for those dealing with eating disorders and depression. Her album Unbroken is full of anthems for those in the recovery process.
