For months rumors have been swirling around the blogosphere as to what song Britney Spears and Giorgio Moroder have covered for his upcoming album Deja Vu. Today, their version of Suzanne Vega's classic "Tom's Diner" has leaked, and its pretty good.
In a switch of events, it was Spears who actually contacted Moroder about the track.
“Britney came to my management company with the idea to do a particular song with me, which was interesting because usually it’s the other way, with the producer offering a song,” Moroder stated to Rolling Stone in January. "I spoke to her on the phone. She called me and told me she wanted to do the dong - it was her idea and she wanted to do it together in the studio, but unfortunately I was in Europe. I heard her track and I only changed a little bit - she did a good job with it actually. I hope she finds the time to do the little bridge - it's just eight bars. I'm going to meet her soon and tell her."
Moroder ended up recording the bridge himself.
The track will be released on the album Deja Vu, which features collaborations with Kylie Minogue and Sia, in June.
