Lollapalooza 2015 Survival Guide

Lollapalooza is nearing, taking place next weekend July 31st - August 2nd, and features a MASSIVE lineup including Sir Paul McCartney, Metallica, Florence + The Machine and more. It will be hot, and there will be huge crowds of people, you will be walking a lot, and so we've compiled some tips to help make your weekend easier.

Beat the heat with sunscreen, a hat, and Drink PLENTY of water
Even though the forecast now is showing temps in the low 80's, we all know Chicago weather is unpredictable, be prepared for rain, heat, and anything else you'd expect in the summer. Near most stages, shade is limited, and with drinking and dancing it can quickly become dangerous. Make sure to drink as much water as possible. Lollapalooza has free water stations all throughout the festival. A large hat and some sunscreen also help keep you cool and protect you skin. Please leave your umbrellas at home, it's no fun being behind someone with an umbrella while your favorite band is playing.

Set a meeting point with your groups
Cell service is extremely spotty in Grant Park during the festival, so make sure you set a meeting point with your group should you get separated from them.

Don't worry about your phone
Again, cell phone service is spotty in the park, and you will have a lot more fun enjoying the music and dancing without a phone in your hand!

Don't be that guy/gal
It's awesome that you would wait all day at the rail to see a certain artist, but please make sure to show respect to the fans and other artists that are playing before your favorite act. Just think, the band playing while you are waiting is someone else' favorite band. Act how you would want people to act during your artist's set.

Look out for one another
This is common sense, but if you see someone who looks like they need help because they are dehydrated, over heated, ect, please call a staff member, and assist them however you can until help arrives. They will appreciate it.

Go for comfort over style
Those flat sandals may look cute, but your feel won't be feeling cute by the end of the day, and the rest of your weekend could be spoiled. Do your body a favor and wear shoes/clothes that are comfortable.

Wait to drink
It's fun to get to the festival and let loose and party right away, but you may want to wait until around 5 or 6 to start drinking. It's no fun to be sick around 5:00 and have to leave the festival.

Around the park
Be sure to check out the Lollapalooza partner booths which are spread out in the park, most of them offer free swag like shirts, bags, sunglasses, and a bunch of other random stuff! Who doesn't love free goodies!

You are about to attend one of the best music festivals in the world, have a great time and enjoy yourself, after all, it only happens once a year. See you there!
