R&B singer/songwriter Bruno Mars was arrested early Sunday morning in Las Vegas on charges of drug possession, reports Spin Magazine.

The arresting officers, who found Mars in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, were unsure of the exact drugs the performer possessed, but that they were, in fact, narcotics.

Most people recognize the 23-year-old, who's real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, from his collaborations with popular pop artists. He has worked with both Travie McCoy, ("Billionare"), and B.O.B. (Nothin' on You). Both singles charted on Billboard's Top 100.
The arrest could have a significant impact on the singer's rising career. His album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, is set to drop October 5th. Also, Mars and B.O.B. recently took to the stage together, performing their No. 1 hit at last week's MTV VMA's. At this time, a rep for the singer has declined to comment for any news source.
