Sponsored by the 2012 Chevy Sonic, the Music Blogger’s Association of America (MBAA) will host an official launch party August 5 at the Grossinger City Autoplex in Chicago. The MBAA celebrates the association’s launch with a first-class experience inside the four-level, 400,000sq ft $22 million dollar facility, while showcasing individuals and brands significantly connecting and engaging with their communities.
The *Chevy Sonic presents the Music DRIVES Chicago MBAA Launch Party* runs from 7 – 10 p.m., followed by *Kids These Days Lollapalooza After Party presented by MBAA*. The Lollapalooza After Party will feature performances from Chicago and Rockford,IL MTV Buzzworthy bands Kids These Days (Friday Lollapalooza performers) and Hey Champ, with an exclusive headline set by DJ Young Guru, Jay-Z's Official Tour DJ and Grammy Award winning engineer behind "Empire State of Mind." The launch party performance lineup will be announced via iPhone-application event sponsor, Fandemic (FandemicWorld.com), July 31.
A 2012 Chevrolet Sonic will be on hand at the event – months before it is available in showrooms nationwide. Attendees will be able to experience the all-new vehicle from Chevrolet, take photos and share their reactions.

The MBAA is searching for community heroes from Chicago and across the state to be recognized by the General Motors Our Town, Our Heroes program. Every two weeks, local heroes are nominated for the good work they’re doing in their communities. The public votes on DrivingtheMidwest.com for the story that inspires them most, and the winning hero and his or her nominator win a week-long loan of a Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle. At both the launch and after party events, Hero Nomination Stations will be available within the onsite Social Media Lounge for attending guests to nominate their local heroes.
