Cynthia Rowley Forgoes Tradition at New York Fashion Week

By: Brooklyn Brown-Sater

With the digital age constantly on the rise, more people are turning to digital outlets to promote their projects. Musicians have sought to premier music videos on their Youtube or Vevo channels and market their albums on iTunes and Amazon versus. Production companies have turned to digital venues to release movies and television shows. Retailers have utilized online merchandising in order to reach more people and sell items that they may not have room in their stores to carry. It only makes sense that the fashion industry would soon follow the trend.

Most designers that don't feature in fashion weeks around the globe release their look books for consumers on their websites. Not only did Cynthia Rowley do it, but she has also released a digital fashion show that is slightly over 2 minutes and encompasses all of the elements of a typical runway show. The great thing this is, that everyone has a front row seat, picture yourself sitting right next to Vogue's Anna Wintour without worrying if she's judging your choice of attire.
