For Valentine's Day, Big Heart Pet Brands, the makers of Milk-Bone and Pup-Peroni, has surveyed 3,000 dog owners to create a list of the top 25 states in the U.S that love dogs the most. This survey serves to determine how regularly the owners engage in puppy love (i.e dog kisses and cuddling).

Dog owners were asked other questions such as how they view other dog parents as potential romantic partners, how their fellow companions enhance their daily lives, and what they plan to do to show their puppy love on Valentine's Day. Here were the results:

DOGGY GIFTS:

* 73% of dog parents buy their dog a gift at least once a month
* The #1 most popular way to show love is by giving your dog a special treat

DOGS + ROMANCE:

* 39% of unmarried women prefer their dog to a date on Valentine's Day
* 18% of single men say that having a dog helps them get more dates
* Both women (79%) and men (67%) find dog-loving people more attractive
