Nearly every year, Lollapalooza has a wild card legacy rock act, and this year all signs point to Tool, whom haven't played the festival since 2009. These guys are going to be active this summer, and are also headlining Governors Ball and Boston Calling.
Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire seem likely to headline Lollapalooza because they haven't since 2010, and will be touring this summer. Fingers crossed!
Muse
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy confirmed the band will be stopping at Lollapalooza on Twitter. the band's tour also doesn't have a Chicago stop.
Chance The Rapper
Like we suggested, Chance The Rapper announced a tour which didn't include a Chicago stop. Even though he could be doing his own festival again, this year Chicago's hometown rapper is more than likely headlining Lollapalooza.
Lorde
Lorde is playing nearly every festival this summer, and Lollapalooza is no different. A source confirmed she will also be headlining Thursday night.
Zedd
Zedd is another wild card, but we think he will be the big name EDM act.
Based On Touring:
Alabama Shakes are touring this summer, and are also playing Osheaga the same weekend which is a good indicator they will be at Lollapalooza.
DJ Snake is playing several other festivals, and would be a wild card, but don't be surprised to see him on the lineup.
Travis Scott is performing at Coachella and Bonnaroo, and should be back from his European Tour just in time for a Lollapalooza set.
Justice is another unexpected wild card, but will be at Panorama and Osheaga, so expect to see them at Lollapalooza too.
Ryan Adams & Jenny Lewis are touring together with no Chicago stop.
The Shins are also touring with no Chicago Stop, and are on the Osheaga lineup.
Foster the People haven't played Lollapalooza in a while, and will be touring this summer.
Belle and Sebastian would be a wonderful surprise on the Lollapalooza lineup. These guys are touring during Lollapalooza weekend, including a stop at Panorama and Osheaga. Expect to see them on the lineup.
